The Vanuatu Tourism Office requires the services of a
Marketing Manager to undertake key responsibilities within their Marketing
Department. The successful applicant will have considerable experience in providing leadership, a high level of customer service, planning skills, the ability to identify priorities and develop focused work plans. Previous experience and/or qualifications in a field of marketing or tourism will be highly regarded. This position is open to all Ni-Vanuatu nationals and is based in Port Vila. The applicant must be proficient in written and spoken English and current computer software applications. Applicants who also speak French will be highly regarded. RESPONSIBILITIES The Marketing Manager is responsible to the General Manager for planning, organizing and executing the Marketing Plan including the following: • Development and implementation of the marketing plan • Co-ordinating marketing and promotional activities including: - Advertising - Travel Shows - Trade Fairs - Seminars/workshops • Liaise with Advertising Agency in regards to developing new slogan/branding • Liaise with South-Pacific.travel Marketing division and market representatives • Preparation and distribution of appropriate sales promotional materials • Collaboration with the travel trade and airlines to prepare and implement joint promotion and campaigns in designated markets • Monitoring promotional expenditure in each market including: • Trade Fair attendance • Collating materials • Familiarization trips • Brochure support • Provide annual and monthly reports to the General Manager of the major activities performed • Other duties as directed by the General Manager THE POSITION REQUIRES • Five years experience in the tourism sector at marketing • Computer literacy and good communication skills • Formal qualifications or training tourism and/or marketing The position will be offered on a contract basis with a salary package to reflect the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
