Vat-Vaka allows visitors to get away from the busy tourist “resorts”. There
is no electricity, and lanterns are provided at night. From the beach, every
star in the sky is visible without the bright city lights. There is a western
style toilet which is flushed using seawater. Visitors with portable devices can
charge them in the village.

Marine Protected Area Nguna & Pele Islands have a Marine
Protected Area (MPA) where healthy coral gardens are truly stunning & can be
visited with assistance of MPA volunteers & their research boat. Tag a
turtle today & follow its travels around the Pacific. Your sponsorship
aids the MPA research.
* Tending gardens/crops Discover the gardens which
provide the local people with a wdie variety of fruits and vegetables. See the
traditional methods of cultivation still used today. Coconut Climbing On a
hot day, have a peek at a villager climbing a coconut tree to pick a fresh
coconut. Learn how the coconut is used while enjoying the refreshing juice.
* Custom story of lake Matanaro Our local guides can take
guests for a guided walk through the local forest visiting important villages
sites and telling the custom stories of the local lake.
* Romantic Get Away, private secluded beaches Vatvaka is
located on a secluded island, rarely discovered by tourists. You will have no
difficulty finding a beach without other tourists the beaches are largely
sheltered and safe for swimming.
* Taloa Meeting House (Farea) See the only meeting house
of its kind in Vanuatu! Built over 200 years ago, it is used for weekly meetings
held by the village chief and special occasions.

Transportation
How to get to Nguna Island: Nguna
Island is surrounded by beautiful stunning coral gardens. Though an offshore
island of Efate, Nguna remains essentially isolated from the main island. Public
Transport (PT) Pick up from Monday to Friday outside the Hua Chinese Store
downtown with the local people from Nguna. Please be there from 12.30pm til
1.30pm. 1000vt (each person) one way including Truck & Boat Trip. Saturday
& Sundays no public transport. For special arrangements: Bus – 6,000vt. Boat
– 3,000vt. One way transportation.
