Paradise Sunset Bungalows offers you experiences to be remembered a lifetime. Discover the custom and culture dating back many centuries, enjoy the unique pleasure of swimming with our tame Dugong.

45 minutes away from Port Vila by regular or chartered flight. Paradise Sunset bungalows are a 15 minute walk from Lamen Bay airfield. Your hosts will be waiting for you at the airfield and will help you carry your bags to your bungalows.

Accomodation: Your bungalow (one of three) overlooks Lamen Bay, facing the setting sun and can sleep 3 (up to 4 if you have kids under 12).Lighting is with kerosene lamps and candles (take a torch if you like reading in bed). The toilet facilities (toilets & showers) are shared in a block specially designed for a minimum environmental damage. Except at times of special cultural events or celebration, the resort never has more than 10 guests. The bungalows are built from local materials as most of the furniture.

For the budget conscious, camping facilities are offered near the resort.

You can stopover at Lamen Bay on your way to (or from) Ambrym, Malekula or Santo.

Bar & Restaurant: Paradise Sunset is a community and family based operation. The menu is not fancy but offers good, healthy and wholesome food prepared with love and dedication by the staff from fresh local products.

The bar stock is limited to cold beer, and wine by the glass. Should you require more sophisticated drinks, bring some with you to drink at sunset on the beach. Please keep in mind that everything has to come a very long way and forgive any shortcomings.

Snorkel and swim with the tame Dugong: An experienced guide will take you on a local canoe and will help you approach the dugong, an inoffensive grass eater, often found in the bay.

Lamen Island: Demonstration of traditional custom dance. The dances represent various aspects of the initiation rites and are normally performed during the grade taking ceremonies.

Nature & Garden tour: Visit the well tendered gardens and learn about growing and processing taros, manioc, sweet potatoes, yams and all sorts of fruits and vegetables are grown.

Waterfall bushwalk: On the way, admire wild hardwood trees, wild cocoa, sacred plants and traditional tribal tracks.

Sunset volcano tour: Walk to a beautiful cape where you can admire both sunset and the Ambrym volcano glowing as the velvety tropical night sets in.

Fishing: Charter one of the local fishing boats and spend half a day bottom fishing for delicious poulet-fish or reef fish.

Activities: You will be able to participate in the daily village activities, free of charge.
