Deco Stop Lodge has had a face lift!

If you are looking for a relaxed stay in Santo with the added bonus of waking up to a million dollar view then this is the place for you!  Deco Stop is situated on an acre hillside, overlooking the Segond Canal. Just five minutes walk up Winston Churchill Drive. Here you can catch a bird’s eye view of what’s happening in town and watch the beautiful sunsets every evening at Chardonnay o’clock on the huge open veranda... 

The restaurant has been newly renovated, with service second to none making it the best in town. Rose, the head chef, cooks with love and every meal is delicious. A smorgasbord of new tastes and flavors await you as you chose from the extensive daily changing menus. Not to mention great choice cuts of famous Santo beef, simply fabulous steaks. Complemented by an extensive range of local and imported seafood and the best lobster dishes in town. All fruits and vegetables are hand picked from the local market, local villagers grow and replenish the market daily so, no pesticides here just jam packed full of everything good and tasty.

Accommodation:

The newly furnished accommodation at Deco Stop consists of 12 units. Each unit comes equipped with a small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, fan, insect screening, hot running water, electricity and own private bathroom facilities. There are 6 Twin/Double rooms and 6 “Quad” share rooms. The “Quad” share rooms can be used for 1 to 4 people with 2 available as 5 person rooms. These all have the same facilities as the double rooms. All rooms are made up daily with crisp fresh linen and flowers. Clean dive towels and bathroom towels are provided daily. Deco Stop caters for all groups, couples and families. 

Every one is treated to a free continental B/fast daily consisting of hot toast cereals and fresh local fruits to start the day. There is also an extensive cooked B/fast menu on offer for those that need a cappuccino and good old bacon ands eggs to get the motor running.

Facilities:

The Deco Stop Lodge has a fully stocked bar, restaurant, pool, entertainment room with pool table, SAT TV, table tennis, darts and a gym. Push bikes are also for hire for those that needed to zip into town in between dives.

There are also computers available for people to download digital camera images and burn to CD. Internet connection is also available.

Laundry service is available for all guests.

Scuba gear wash and storage facility with separate camera wash tub is provided for diving guests. This is secured when not in use.

A range of exclusive souvenirs are available at the office and also on sale at our regular custom dancing and string band nights. 

Diving and tours:

Local dive operators pick up and drop off at our front gate.  Dive the world famous SS President Coolidge wreck and other great sites.

Deco stop can arrange tours to various parts of Santo including beaches, blue holes, conservation areas and caves. Eco tourism is huge and offers so much you need more than a week above water to see it all.

Espiritu Santo Culture Night:

This is our special night! Espiritu Santo (meaning home to the spirits of the Saints) is the largest and most stunning in so many ways of all the islands in the magnificent Vanuatu island chain.

During WW2 James A Michener, then a lieutenant in the US army was posted here, so overwhelmed by the islands beauty he wrote the legendary Tales of the South Pacific. It’s hard to imagine 100,000 allied troops were stationed here during the course of the war!

Through out all of this, villages in Santo have preserved their culture and a traditional way of life has remained strong. The pride and strength of these beautiful noble people is admired by many.

Tonight we wish to give you a taste of our rich culture... The Maralava Dancers dressed in their colourful costumes and painted bodies will present you with a fantastic display of their own tribal dances and explain there complex meaning. You will then be spoilt by the wonderful Deco ladies who have prepared you a meal on their own home wood fires. The flavours will speak for them selves. Do not hesitate to ask as to what they have lovingly prepared for you...

After indulging your taste buds you’ll have plenty of energy to dance to the traditional String Band... Swing it with the staff...

Our Local feast of island vegetables, salads and fruits accompanied by grilled chicken, fresh fish, and delicious BBQ Santo steak’s plus entertainment is only 2000vt per person. People flock from all other resorts to witness the spectacular.
