There are quite literally hundreds of tours throughout Vanuatu, from two hour sightseeing bus jaunt around the Capital, Port Vila, to a week long kayaking, game fishing or sailing trip throughout the islands.

You can visit a backstreet store that makes the best homemade jams and pickles in the South Pacific, go SCUBA diving, charter a seaplane to a deserted island, look into the heart of an active volcano or stand in awe as you witness the primitive origins of bungy jumping. There are tours suitable for everyone, from babies to grannies, and other trips suited only to those who are reasonably fit. But for the most part, you do not need special skills, or be exceptionally fit, to enjoy most of what Vanuatu offers. Even the short climb to the top of Yasur volcano on Tanna Island can be accessed by everyone except the severely disabled.

A visit to Vanuatu without seeing at least one of these islands would be like going to a fine restaurant and eating only bread and water. The outer islands are the very heart of Vanuatu.
